The Lister Tennis Club Holiday Camp Experience

At Lister Tennis Club in Stevenage, one of our coaches will greet you as you arrive and get you ready for camp. They will partner you with similar players and get you settled on the correct court and ball after warming you up with exercises and ball drills. By the end of camp players should feel comfortable on a court and leave with skills that will set you up for more camp or termly courses should you choose that route. Camp will allow the players to get a sense of what we offer at Lister and to meet the coaching team who offer high standard coaching courses all year round.

Need to know what to do during Half Term?

We are thrilled to offer our well-loved Tennis Holiday Camps, specifically designed for children aged between 5 and 12 years old. Our LTA accredited+ coaches will deliver regular course material in a more relaxed environment full of caching, matchplay and games.

Individual Growth and Achievement

Our tennis camps run during every school holiday with a break at Christmas and we celebrate each child’s unique journey in learning tennis. We recognise that every child learns at their own pace and may start at different stages and our dedicated LTA qualified coaches are committed to nurturing individual growth. As they master the fundamental skills, they’ll gain a sense of accomplishment and a boost of self-esteem that transcends the tennis court.

The programmes are designed to cater to all skill levels – from beginners just picking up a racket for the first time to more seasoned junior players looking to improve their game. Over the course of the camp, the children will enjoy a variety of tennis-related activities, mini-games, drills, and friendly matches to boost their confidence, agility, coordination, and overall fitness levels. Juniors who have entered tennis at an older age will be placed with the correct ball (and racket if they don’t have their own) to suit their ability and camp is a great way to start the tennis journey should they want to try tennis before committing to a course.

Safety and Well-being

Your child’s safety is our utmost priority. Our club is fully equipped with all the necessary safeguarding, safety equipment and first-aid facilities. Furthermore, our coaches are trained in health and safety protocols to ensure that your child has a safe and enjoyable experience whilst giving you peace of mind. The coach:player ratios are kept low and within the LTA guidelines so players enjoy their camp experience without feeling overcrowded. The coaches will run the camps similar to the course structure during term time and low ratios allow for players to have enough court space to use their skills. Having the age groups next to each other on the court allows the younger players to watch the older players to see what tennis will be like when they get older. Regular drinks breaks will be offered and a longer snack break will take place in the club house to allow players to use the facilities and fill up their water bottles. Players attending day camp will be given an opportunity to relax in the club house to eat a packed lunch before going back on court.

Indoor Facilities

Our club boasts two indoor acrylic tennis courts and three outdoor floodlit courts, enabling us to run our tennis camps regardless of the English weather. Come rain or shine, your child will be able to enjoy a fun-filled day of tennis.

Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity for your child to grow, learn, and have fun. Enrol them in the latest Lister Tennis Club’s Holiday Camp today and let them step into a world of fun, friendship, and forehands!
